Professional History
My Qualifications
Foundation Doctor
Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn
August 2022 - Present
In my foundation, I had placements in general surgery, oncology and haematology. Working as a doctor gave me direct experience of acute clinical decision-making, applying and developing my knowledge and skills from medical school. In this job, I have to take responsibility for the decisions I make under pressure, often working within a high margin of uncertainty and limited information. My strong communication skills enable me to gain information effectively from patients and their loved ones, discuss clinical decisions and hand over relevant information safely. I was selected to undertake a Mary Seacole apprenticeship in Leadership and Management in association with BPP.
Sensing Spaces
Working Group
2020 - Present
After completing my iBSc dissertation, I continued to develop my understanding of the impacts of architecture and design in healthcare spaces on physical and mental health by taking part in this working group. The group comprises a multidisciplinary team of historians, architects and designers aiming to produce a design manifesto to improve existing and future healthcare spaces to elevate health and wellbeing outcomes by centring sensory experience in healthcare spaces.
